Believing in the potential of youth, we strive to fulfill our roles and responsibilities as global citizens by making our contributions to end poverty and inequality in this world.

Humanity in Focus was set up by a group of university students who returned from a services project in Cambodia in summer 2006. It is one of the first youth initiated and managed NGO in Hong Kong focusing on global humanity and poverty issues. We believe everyone has a role to play in relieving global poverty and inequality, and starting as youth is of particularly importance. Since summer 2006, HIF has developed from a group of 5 founders to an organization that has attracted youth from various universities, secondary schools and young professionals from various fields, at the same time we expanded our projects and connections in Cambodia. “We might be dreamers, but we are not alone” We hope you will join us one day, to Dream Wild, Act Now!

Because children have rights:

We initiate and implement our programs in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC):

  • The Right to Life and Development: Providing adequate food, shelter and clean water, formal education, primary health care, leisure and recreation, cultural activities and information about their rights.
  • The Right to Protection: Fighting all forms of child abuse, neglect, exploitation and cruelty
  • The Right to Participation: Making children aware of their rights and responsibilities, and take part in the decision making processes related to their well-being.

Because the world has set targets for development:

  • We strive to make our contributions to the United Nations (UN) Millennium Development Goals by promoting primary education, child development and health care among youth in Cambodia
