Global Citizenship and Social Service Week – “One whose heart is in the world”
On 28 to 30th October 2009, the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) organized The Global Citizenship and Social Service Week which aims at increasing students’ understanding of global humanity issues and cultivating their sense of responsibility as global citizens – to be “one whose heart is in the world”.

Radio Interview - RTHK "Teen Power"
Three HIFers were interviewed by the live program “Teen Power” from
RTHK on 18 Sept (Fri) night. We were happy to present HIF through this
youth channel, as well as to have a chance for discussion on how Hong
Kong citizens may have contributed to mishaps in developing countries.

On 19th July 2009, we successfully held a sharing session with 120 secondary schools outstanding students for the programme, “Summer School for Effective Leadership 2009”, a collaborative project organized by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and The University of Hong Kong.

Sharing with Red Cross International Humanitarian Service Leadership Programme (ISLP)
On 9th July 2009, Humanity in Focus was invited by Red Cross International Humanitarian Service Leadership Programme (ISLP) to have a sharing session. Committee members of HIF shared their experience in setting up a youth NGO and running different overseas projects. Participants of Young Global Citizenship Programme 2009 (YGCP) have also shared their views after the Cambodia trip.

Humanity in Focus has organised a "Poverty experience camp" together with Crossroads International again this year. In the camp, More than 30 participants lived in simulated environments, allowing them to experience the problems that poor people around the world are fac . In-depth debriefing on related issues were followed after the simulations.
